Maria Martinez Pottery Jar with feather Design Marie and Julian (1925-43)

Maria Martinez San Ildefonso Pueblo, one of the most noted Southwestern Pueblo Potters. This beautiful example of her work was executed with her husband Julian Martinez (1887-1943). Maria made the pottery and Julian painted the designs. The bulbous black on black jar is decorated with a series of repeat feathers design and signed Marie and Julian, dating it from 1925-1943. In good overall condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. Normal wear for the age of the peice. Stands 4 3/4" tall and measures 6 3/4" in diameter.
