A very early example of San Antonio, TX potter Harding Black's (1912 - 2004) biomorphic work, this large and extraordinary double chamber vessel is signed and dated HARDING BLACK 1951.

Natural clay exterior is contrasted by an unusual dead mat black glaze to the interior recesses. In excellent condition, no chips, cracks or repairs. Black, who had no formal training in ceramics or chemistry, became recognized as a master of glazes.

Measures 20" in Length, 10" at the widest and 5.5" in height.
