California Maidu Polychrome Basket

California Maidu Polychrome Basket with centipede design varient circa 1900. A beautiful example, constructed of willow and redbud. The Maidu are an Indigenous people to Northen California residing in Central Sierra Neveda in the drainage of The Feather and American rivers and in the Humbug Valley. Measures 8" in diameter and is 4" tall to the top. In excellent original condition. No damage - crisp and clean. Has a nice light patina overall.
