1880s Eastern Sioux Indian 3 Panel Womans Beaded Bag Sinew Sewn On Hide 11" x 6"
We are offering an antique circa 1880's Eastern Sioux Indian 3 panel woman's beaded bag, sinew sewn on elk or deer hide, U-shaped pointed form beaded on both sides, one with star and triangular pattern, the other side with star, chevron, triangular, diamond and other various geometric elements. Multicolor beads include whiteheart red, aqua, pale blue, dark blue, greasy yellow, white, purple, dark emerald green, greasy green, amber, pink, silver and gold. Measures 11" x 6". In very good condition. All original, no alterations or repairs. The field designs and edge trim strips are all intact with the exception of a 2 3/4" long area of dark green beads missing as shown in photo #7; on the back side there is a loose strand of white beads at the top edge and a very small spot of white bead loss at the tip. The hide is soft and supple, no stiffness. The drawstring is partially there as shown. Very solid overall. N840
